A modular furniture design for a shared dorm space, where multiple friends need to display different types of collections.
Rather than treating storage as a static container, the project views a cabinet as a flexible form that can adapt to different objects and personal preferences, with each collection equally visible.
One frame, many conditions
A lightweight frame creates a consistent structural grid, with adjustable connectors that allow shelves to shift in height, size, and orientation. Transparency prevents any single collection from dominating the whole.
Spherical nodes proved difficult to control, so the joint became rectilinear. Two identical square connectors let rods align orthogonally and lock into place.
Joint studies
A single joint type is the organizational rule of the entire assembly. The joint is not hidden; it becomes part of the visual language.
A shared platform where individual identity and collective living coexist within one unified structure.
